Scientists Richard Jove, Ph.D., and John J. Rossi, Ph.D., were honored with endowed chairs at an investiture ceremony on Nov. 21, 2011.

Michael A. Friedman, M.D., president and chief executive officer, presented a commemorative award to Jove during the ceremony. Jove was recognized as the Morgan and Helen Chu Director’s Chair of Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope. In the lab, Jove is known for research on signal transducer and activator of transcription, or STAT, proteins and their potential as targets for cancer therapies. He has led Beckman Research Institute since 2008.
