An artist’s rendering of the Duarte Gold Line StationA busy, busy town

An artist’s rendering shows how Duarte Road in front of City of Hope might look in the future with the opening of a Gold Line station west of Highland Avenue.

Duarte will receive a $400,000 grant from L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) that will kick off plans for developing a transit village around the station. The site, including up to 19 acres on the northwest corner of Duarte and Highland, would feature offices, housing, research and development space and other buildings. Plans also are under way to eventually make parts of Duarte Road friendlier to pedestrians. (Courtesy of the Gold Line Foothill Extension)
