City of Hope’s medical staff roster added 18 new physicians over autumn and winter. We profiled eight physicians in our last issue. Continuing our introductions, we profile the remaining 10 specialists here: Sangeeta Awasthi (Photo by Darrin S. Joy)- Sangeeta Awasthi, M.D., clinical psychiatrist in the Department of Supportive Care Medicine. Awasthi previously worked in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and had a private practice in psychiatry.
Neal Prakash (All photos by p.cunningham unless otherwise noted)- Neal Prakash, M.D., Ph.D., associate clinical professor and director of neuro-optical imaging in the Division of Neurology. Previously, he was a faculty member at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and then an assistant professor at the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Dan J. Raz- Dan J. Raz, M.D., assistant professor in the Division of Thoracic Surgery. He joins City of Hope from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston where he was a fellow in cardiothoracic surgery. He completed a surgical residency at the University of California, San Francisco.
Michael A. Rosenzweig- Michael A. Rosenzweig, M.D., M.S., assistant professor in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT). He joins City of Hope following a fellowship in HCT at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
Alan Tang- Alan Tang, M.D., assistant clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. He was previously at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Jimmie Wong- Jimmie Wong, M.D., assistant professor in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology. Wong previously worked as an assistant professor of radiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Aimee Wu- Aimee Wu, M.D., assistant clinical professor in the Department of Anesthesiology. She joins City of Hope from Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Christine Yeon (Photo by Thomas Brown)- Christine Yeon, M.D., director of infusion services at City of Hope-South Pasadena. Yeon worked at Wilshire Oncology Group and completed training in internal medicine, hematology and oncology at UCLA.
Shan Yuan- Shan Yuan, M.D., associate clinical professor in the Department of Pathology. Yuan hails from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine where she was assistant medical director of Transfusion Medicine and assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Michael Zourabian- Michael Zourabian, M.D., clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medical Specialties and associate director of the Evaluation and Treatment Center. Formerly a chest surgeon in Russia, Zourabian moved to the U.S., completed a residency in family medicine at Whittier Presbyterian Hospital, set up a private practice and worked at City of Hope for several years as a nocturnist, a physician specializing in overnight hospital care, before joining the full-time faculty.
