City of Hope named one of Americas Best Hospitals for urology

When U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings of "America's Best Hospitals" a few months ago, you probably were not surprised to see City of Hope listed among the very best cancer centers in the nation. After all, your generosity and dedication helped put us there.

But did you know we were one of only six hospitals in all of California to be ranked in the top 30 in urology?

City of Hope's division of urology focuses on detecting and treating cancers of the genitourinary system, including testicular, prostate, bladder and kidney cancer.  Using the da Vinci® robotic surgery system, the division has performed over 1,500 minimally-invasive prostatectomies since June 2003. That's more than any other center in the western U.S.

"We were very pleased to receive this recognition from U.S. News," said Timothy Wilson, M.D., City of Hope's chief of urology and urologic oncology.

"It is a sign not only of our leadership in employing research and technology to improve quality of life, but also of the commitment our partners and supporters show in making this work possible."
