A November 11 article in the Los Angeles Times’ business section called City of Hope one of "the 10 best charities everyone's heard of." Citing Charity Navigator, an independent watchdog organization that monitors nonprofit groups, the Times included supporting City of Hope on a list of alternative holiday-season gift ideas.

"The world needs more miracles, and it's up to us to make them happen," the Times says. "There are many Internet sites where you can support a cause in someone else's name," including www.cityofhope.org.
