City of Hope ranked 22nd on this year’s list of top cancer hospitals and 23rd on the list for urology. The cancer rating is eight places higher than last year’s rank, while the urology rating is six places higher than 2007.

“Recognition in U.S. News for both cancer and urology is a positive reflection on all members of the City of Hope team, including our generous partners and friends,” said Michael A. Friedman, M.D., president and chief executive officer. “In addition to our focus on providing the very best patient care, we strive every day to rapidly transform our scientific discoveries into better treatments for those fighting cancer and other serious conditions.”

City of Hope’s ranking in urology is in part recognition for our prostate cancer program, Dr. Friedman explained. The largest such program in the state,

City of Hope is a leader in laparoscopic and robot-assisted prostate cancer surgeries. Since 2003, City of Hope physicians have performed more robotic-assisted prostatectomies than any other center in the western United States.

Thank you for making City of Hope’s leading position possible through your support.
