A Recipe for Cancer Prevention 

 



Pomegranate Berry Lassi
Serves 1-2

3/4 cup 100% pomegranate juice
3/4 cup plain organic kefir (or organic plain whole milk yogurt)
3/4 cup fresh berries (such as nutritious red currants when they’re in season)
1 teaspoon pomegranate molasses, raw honey or pure maple syrup
1 pinch each of ground cinnamon, ground cardamom and ground ginger

Put all ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.
Taste and adjust sweetness and spices, if desired.

Pomegranate: This sweet seeded fruit, a rich source of antioxidants, also has other possible cancer-fighting benefits. City of Hope researchers have identified six chemicals that suppress aromatase — a substance in the body that helps produce estrogen. About 70% of breast cancers need estrogen to grow, and pomegranate is a prime candidate as a breast-cancer-blocking super food. In addition, scientists have detected two substances in the fruit with potential to fight both colon cancer and diabetes.
