SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, 2010 — City of Hope’s Northern California Real Estate and Construction Business Alliance will honor AMB Property Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Hamid Moghadam with The Spirit of Life® Award, City of Hope’s most prestigious philanthropic honor. Real estate and construction leaders, colleagues and City of Hope supporters will celebrate Moghadam’s philanthropic and business achievements at the Spirit of Life dinner and silent auction at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on May 13.

AMB is a leading owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, focused on major distribution markets in the Americas, Europe and Asia. “I’m honored to receive this special recognition from City of Hope, an institution that is committed to improving the lives of patients who face life-threatening diseases,” said Moghadam. “AMB and the real estate industry share City of Hope’s mission to advance research to make cancer curable and, one day, preventable.”

“We’re grateful for Hamid Moghadam’s support of City of Hope’s efforts to secure a future without cancer,” said Heather Olinto, senior director of development, City of Hope. “His willingness and commitment to help others is vital to City of Hope’s mission and the work of our researchers. Together, we hope to quickly translate breakthrough science into new therapies so that some day a cure may be found.”

The Spirit of Life dinner presenting sponsors include AMB Property Corporation, Cassidy Turley and Morrison & Foerster, LLP.

In its 24-year history, the Northern California Real Estate and Construction Business Alliance has raised more than $3 million for City of Hope’s lifesaving research, treatment and education programs.
