SAN FRANCISCO, March 9, 2010 — City of Hope’s Northern California Real Estate and Construction Business Alliance will honor AMB Property Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Hamid Moghadam with The Spirit of Life® Award, City of Hope’s most prestigious philanthropic honor. Real estate and construction leaders, colleagues and City of Hope supporters will celebrate Moghadam’s philanthropic and business achievements at the Spirit of Life dinner and silent auction at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco on May 13.
AMB is a leading owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, focused on major distribution markets in the Americas, Europe and Asia. It has approximately 2,600 customers in 47 markets within 14 countries. In 2001, AMB created the Charitable Activities Committee to provide employees with opportunities to participate in a variety of local, national and global programs that help improve the well-being of communities.

About the Honoree
In 1983, Hamid Moghadam co-founded AMB Property Corporation, a leading global developer and owner of industrial real estate. Over the years Moghadam has held a number of strategic roles within the real estate industry. He has served as chairman of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT), chairman of the Real Estate Investment Trust Political Action Committee, director of Plum Creek Timber Company (NYSE: PCL) and founding member of the Real Estate Roundtable. He is also a trustee of Stanford University and has been a board member of various philanthropic and community boards in the San Francisco bay area, including the California Academy of Sciences, Town School for Boys and chairman of Young Presidents Organization’s Northern California Chapter.
He is a past winner of the “Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year,” a recipient of the “Ellis Island Medal of Honor” and is an eight-time winner of “CEO of the Year” by four different industry publications. He received the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties “Lifetime of Building Award” in 2007 and NAREIT’s Industry “Leadership Award” in 2005.
