LOS ANGELES, October 8, 2009 — More than 650 office products industry executives and supporters attended City of Hope’s National Office Products Industry (NOPI) Spirit of Life® gala at the Chicago Hilton to honor Jack G. Truong, Ph.D., vice president, 3M. Truong received The Spirit of Life Award, City of Hope’s most prestigious philanthropic honor, in recognition of his longtime business and community commitment supporting research and treatment for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Inspiring Hope’s yearlong campaign concluded with the Spirit of Life gala and raised more than $7.2 million for City of Hope.
“I’m honored to receive The Spirit of Life Award and proud to support City of Hope and its mission to turn innovative new research into new treatments for patients who need them,” said Truong. “The relationship and partnership between 3M and City of Hope proves that possibilities are endless when it comes to supporting the lifesaving work of researchers and physicians. Their work is at the heart of improving the quality and long-term health of human life.”
