LOS ANGELES, September 16, 2009 — City of Hope will bestow dual philanthropic honors to leaders in the Los Angeles real estate industry during the annual Spirit of Life event on December 7, 2009. The late Jerry M. Sudarsky, principal founder of Alexandra Real Estate Equities Inc. (NYSE: ARE), will be honored with City of Hope’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his significant philanthropic and business accomplishments, including his scientific contributions to the chemical and molecular life sciences industry. The Spirit of Life Award, City of Hope’s most prestigious honor, will be presented to Alexandra Real Estate Equities Inc. Accepting the award will be Joel S. Marcus, Alexandra Real Estate Equities chairman of the board and chief executive officer.
