CHICAGO, September 2, 2008 – Close to 300 home furnishings industry executives enjoyed the Chicago skyline views aboard the Mystic Blue at the annual Midwest Dinner Cruise on Monday, August 18. The event, honoring Marty and Steve Darvin, raised over $100,000 for City of Hope, a leading biomedical research and treatment institution for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. This year’s cruise was hosted by Sea Products/Skyline Furniture and Darvin Furniture.

The National Home Furnishings Industry chapter was created by a group of industry leaders who wanted to help in the search for a cure for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses, and currently encompasses representatives from all facets of the industry including retail, manufacturing and publishing. To date, the group has raised more than $43 million for City of Hope.
