Los Angeles, February 25, 2010 - Music and entertainment industry leaders and City of Hope supporters will raise their glasses to support innovative cancer research and treatment programs at Taste of Hope on March 24 in New York, presented by Premiere Radio Networks. The fourth annual wine tasting benefit will feature wines from private collections from Antonio “L.A.” Reid, chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group, and Steve Bartels, president and chief operating officer, Island Def Jam Music Group, and the opportunity to bid on unique wines through silent and live auctions. Guests will dine at the famed Tribeca Rooftop with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. Now in its fourth year, Taste of Hope has raised more than $700,000 for City of Hope’s lifesaving cancer research, treatment and education programs.
“Each year, Taste of Hope garners an increasing amount of support from wine lovers in the music and entertainment industry,” said Alissa Pollack, senior vice president, music initiatives and vice president of affiliated relations, Mediabase/Premiere Radio Networks. “Together through this annual fundraising event, we can help City of Hope in the fight against cancer and other life-threatening diseases so that patients can live longer, healthier lives.”
“Unfortunately, everyone will be affected by cancer at some point in their lives. We are pleased to support City of Hope’s efforts to quickly transform scientific discoveries into new treatments for patients with cancer,” said Richard Palmese, executive vice president, RCA Music Group. “The longstanding relationship between the music industry and City of Hope represents the power of hope – the willingness and devotion to help researchers uncover new treatments to help patients facing life-threatening diseases.”
