LOS ANGELES, February 23, 2010 — Professional salon executives, stylists and City of Hope supporters will honor Eva Graham, founder of NIOXIN Research Laboratories Inc., with the 2010 Spirit of Life® Award. The most prestigious honor bestowed by City of Hope, The Spirit of Life Award recognizes outstanding business and philanthropic achievement. Graham will receive the award at the Spirit of Life gala at the Mandalay Bay Hotel Las Vegas on July 19. The event supports lifesaving cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading cancer centers.

A highly regarded veteran in the beauty industry, Graham founded NIOXIN in 1987 to help find a solution to thinning hair. After countless hours meeting with people dealing with hereditary conditions or undergoing medical treatments resulting in hair loss, such as chemotherapy, Graham came to fully grasp the importance of her product. The result of her efforts was a formula to help the appearance of fine, thinning hair, preserving beauty and inspiring hope for users around the world.

Graham, her son Brian, chief executive officer of NIOXIN and 2010 Spirit of Life chair, and past Spirit of Life honorees recently visited City of Hope to learn firsthand about its innovative research and unique approach to treating the whole patient.

“It was inspiring to see the collaboration between researchers, physicians and nurses as they care for the emotional, spiritual and physical side of patients and their families,” said Graham. “That unwavering commitment has propelled City of Hope to its position as a leader in cancer research and care. I am honored to be recognized by the organization and proud to support its mission to bring new therapies and new hope to patients facing serious diseases.”

"The salon industry is a great champion in the fight against cancer, especially at City of Hope and we are pleased to honor one of its leaders, Eva Graham,” said Csynthia Savage, senior director of development, City of Hope.

About the Honoree

Founder of NIOXIN Research Laboratories Inc., Eva Graham was the first in the hair care industry to successfully help those, including herself, with fine and thinning hair find a solution. Her experience with skincare helped her approach hair in a similar way. By treating the scalp as an extension of the skin on the face, she integrated like-type cleansers, exfoliants and anti-aging ingredients for a youthful scalp complexion thus providing healthier-looking hair.

Graham globally expanded NIOXIN into a leading company that continues to define one of the fastest growing categories in the beauty industry. NIOXIN is available in 42 countries. In 2009, Procter & Gamble acquired NIOXIN Research Laboratories Inc.

The Graham Family Foundation is proud to be a Benefactor of Hope sponsor supporting City of Hope.
