Jennifer Linehan, M.D., is a clinical assistant professor in the Division of Urology and Urologic Oncology at City of Hope, but primarily works at the City of Hope-Antelope Valley Multispecialty Clinic in Lancaster, Calif. Her expertise and interests are minimally invasive approaches to urologic oncology and reconstructive urology. Linehan has had experience in performing robotic prostatectomy, robotic cystectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, robotic pyeloplasty, laparoscopic cytoreductive radical nephrectomy, laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and laparoscopic renal cryoablation. She also continues to practice general urology, including both male and female voiding dysfunction and treatment for kidney stones. She completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Arizona prior to coming to City of Hope. During that time she received the George M. Drach Award for the most compassionate urologic resident. She also received multiple research awards for her contributions in kidney cancer research. Linehan arrived at City of Hope in 2010 and quickly became involved in prostate cancer research. She has spent the last two years working on biomarkers for prostate cancer with Steven Smith, Ph.D., at Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope. Linehan hopes are to help aid in prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment by providing better biological markers. With better prostate cancer tracking devices, or biomarkers, she hopes to help individualize treatment by identifying more aggressive prostate cancer versus those that are indolent. She has presented multiple abstracts and research at conferences across the country and continues to dedicate time to both basic science and clinical research. She is dedicated to comprehensive cancer care working with a full multidisciplinary team, including medical and radiation oncologists. Her main goals are patient care, comfort and education. She is currently a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Urologic Society, the Society of Women in Urology and the Western Section Urologic Association.
