Ismail Al-Abdullah, Ph.D., Research Scientist, joined the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism from the Diabetes Research Institute in Miami, FL. Dr. Al-Abdullah brings expertise in islet isolation using the Ricordi method and will be directing the islet isolation laboratory of the ICR program at City of Hope. He is also investigating various methods for assessing islet quality and function, prior to islet transplantation.
