Urologist Kevin Chan, M.D., joined City of Hope’s Division of Urology and Urologic Oncology in August 2004. In his position, Dr. Chan focuses on treating erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence, urinary reconstruction, and urologic retroperitoneal disease and also performs laparoscopic nephrectomies and adrenalectomies. Additionally, Dr. Chan treats all aspects of general urology, including benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stones. As a member of the Division of Urology, Dr. Chan joins a distinguished team of doctors known for their use of the minimally invasive robotic laparoscopic surgical technique to remove cancerous prostate glands. These same physicians have performed more than 870 laparoscopic prostatectomies since 2000, more than any other U.S. medical center.
Dr. Chan comes to City of Hope from the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center, where he completed his urology residency. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chan’s research interests include erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence.
Dr. Chan earned his Medical Degree at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1998 and his Bachelor of Science degree, Magna cum Laude, in Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Chan has received a number of honors and awards, including the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Resident Award and the Pfizer Scholar in Urology Award. He resides in Pasadena.
