 Lab Overview

The focus of our laboratory is the development of experimental therapeutics for treatment of sarcomas. Adult sarcomas consist of a heterogenous group of histological distinct malignancies that arise from mesenchymal tissues. They are relatively rare, accounting for only approximately 1% of the cancer diagnoses each year in the U.S. Unfortunately, they are relatively insensitive to chemotherapy, and therefore novel therapies are needed.

Goals of the Lab
The focus of our laboratory is the development of new, less toxic therapies for treatment of sarcomas. Sarcomas are unsusual tumors that arise from connective tissues. Unfortunately, chemotherapy for sarcomas generally has many side effects and often is ineffective; therefore new, less toxic therapies are needed.
