Liz Cooke's research emphasis is on physical and psychosocial education and interventions with the Stem Cell Transplantation population. She attends clinical rounds frequently, and assists with planning of nurse and patient education. Her last study, an NCI-funded grant, tested a tailored quality of life post-discharge teaching and rehabilitation program. This study was done to determine if the intervention indeed affected patient’s quality of life, functional status, satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
In addition, Liz has completed two caregiver studies and is formulating another one. All evaluate the time post transplant and caregiver issues.
Liz is an Adult Nurse Practitioner with advanced certification in Oncology. She also will be starting school the Fall of 2010 to add an additional certification in Mental Health at Azusa Pacific University to better meet the needs of the stem cell population.
