Wei Feng, M.D., Staff Physician, led our team, in the past, in a clinical trial to evaluate the utility of an insulin delivery system that allows a dry powder form of insulin to be delivered to the lungs. The large surface area of the lungs (approximately the size of a football field) allows for rapid diffusion of the insulin molecule. It is hoped that more user-friendly and simple insulin delivery systems will assist more people with diabetes in the future. Dr. Feng is currently conducting a clinical study to evaluate the effectives of nateglinide and valsartan in the prevention and diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
