The laboratory is located in the Beckman Research Institute at City of Hope in Duarte, CA. The lab is housed in the newly constructed Leslie and Susan Gonda (Goldschmied) Diabetes and Genetic Research Center in the Division of Gene Regulation and Drug Discovery and Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism.
A variety of core facilities are available including those for microarray analysis, laser capture microdissection, mass-spectroscopy/protein sequencing, microarray, DNA sequencing, oligonucleotide & peptide synthesis, phosphor- and fluoro-imaging, histology/histochemistry, frozen tumor bank, time-lapse videography, confocal microscopy, cytogenetics, GC/MS, LC/MS/MS, NMR, circular dichroism, plasmon resonance, flow-cytometry, molecular modeling & pharmacore analysis, electron microscopy, animal care, antibody production, and transgenic/knockout facilities.
In addition, our lab hosts the Meeting of LA area Receptor Labs or MoLAR. This meeting is held twice a year and brings together all LA receptor labs for a day long meeting covering the very latest in nuclear receptors. In addition, the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinolgy and Metabolism hosts the annual Rachmiel Levine Symposium, a 4-day meeting with presentations by the world's most respected scientists in the fields of diabetes, obesity and atherosclerosis.
City of Hope is situated on a beautiful campus just 15 minutes from Pasadena and Cal Tech, maps and directions are available.
