Jill is the director of the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative; a non-profit organization dedicated to providing profession education and increasing public awareness of cancer pain management and related issues. She has been with City of Hope since 2009 when she was recruited from New Hampshire to work in the Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism Department as a diabetes educator. She received her B.S.N. from Northeastern University in 1988 and had worked in the acute inpatient setting until 2005 when she changed her focus to chronic illness care and obtained her certification as a diabetes educator. While working at City of Hope, Jill finished her master’s degree in Nursing Leadership and Management and transferred to a position as Assistant Clinical Manager on the medical oncology unit. Her exposure to diabetes in the oncology setting illustrated a unique area of patients needs. To explore this area, Jill decided to continue her education and is currently a nursing PhD student at the University of Utah in the oncology cohort.
