 Welcome from the Director

Welcome to the City of Hope Clinical Research Training Office, which was developed to institute formal training opportunities in clinical research. Our vision is to bring basic scientists and clinicians together to better facilitate the bench-to-bedside continuum.

One function of the office is the Clinical Investigation Training Program (CITP), which provides didactic training and mentoring in the principles of clinical research including development of fundamental skills, methodology, and theory, necessary for today’s well-trained, independent, clinical investigator.

Building on City of Hope’s strength in cutting edge research and patient care, we developed the program’s comprehensive curriculum to provide professionals with the necessary tools to perform valid, credible patient-based research for the advancement of scientific knowledge and treatment of human disease.

I invite you to explore our multidisciplinary program and the various options available to advance your clinical research training and career development.

Jonathan Espenschied, M.D.
