The Hematopathology Fellowship Program at City of Hope is a one-year ACGME accredited fellowship that emphasizes diagnostic neoplastic hematopathology, and is designed for fellows interested in either academic or community practice careers. Supporting one of the largest bone marrow transplantation programs in the United States, and enjoying an active consultation service, the division evaluates over 3,000 diagnostic specimens involving peripheral blood, bone marrow, lymph node and extranodal tissues. Multiparameter studies are stressed including analyses by morphology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetic and molecular techniques, all supported by active in-house laboratories. Fellows may also participate in clinical and basic research performed within the division.

Candidates must have completed 3 years of Anatomic Pathology or 2 years of Clinical Pathology and 2 years of Anatomic Pathology training, and be eligible for a California medical license.
