In 1983, a group of corporate leaders formed the National Office Products Council, a professional alliance dedicated to support City of Hope and its life-saving mission. These industry leaders from across the nation have helped City of Hope raise more than $140 million in support of City of Hope since its inception.
The continued expansion of the industry has evolved the group which is now comprised of organizations affiliated with the flourishing technology and industrial jan/san sectors, transforming the group to the National Business Products Industry.
The industry’s impact at City of Hope has been profound, funding the creation of the National Business Product Industry’s Center for Biomedicine & Genetics, the nation’s premiere academic biologic manufacturing facility; the state of the art Helford Clinical research Hospital which opened with the generous support of industry legend Irwin Helford; and the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center for Cancer Immunotherapies and Tumor Immunology which houses innovative research seeking to create new treatments harnessing the body’s immune system to fight cancer.
Today, the National Business Products Industry remains one of City of Hope’s most devout and prolific donor groups.
