"Surf, water ski and snow ski/board all in one day? That's crazy. It can't be done," they said. Well, on the first day of spring in 1983 a group of individuals gathered their might and proved them wrong.
Why do this?
Because WE CAN!
And, to support City of Hope's efforts to end cancer and other life threatening diseases.
How did last year's Tri-Avaganza go?
Tri-Avaganza 2010 started with a beautiful Malibu Surf Rider sunrise and a 1-2 swell. From our sheltered, sunny cove we then trekked up to 2600 ft above sea level to Lake Pyramid. It was cold there. Very cold, with snow in the local hills & 38 degree temps cold (memo to self - buy a dry suit). After defrosting, we got up to the top of Mountain High and enjoyed fabulous snow skiing/boarding. It was some of the best local snow we've ever seen! From the top peak, at 7800 ft above sea level, we enjoyed a beautiful sunset of the LA basin. The evening ended with a hearty meal and warm beverages. Thanks to our sponsors Val-Surf, At-The-Helm-Marine, and Mountain High Resort for their loyal support!
Hang ten, toes and tips up!
