On Thursday, November 10, the Chicago Construction and Real Estate Community will honor John DiCiurcio, Executive Vice President, Turner Construction Company with the Spirit of Life Award. John has been involved with City of Hope and the Chicago Construction and Real Estate Council nearly since inception. Over the years, John and Turner have not only been significant supporters of the Council’s campaign – but have taken an active role in reaching out to others for support. Most significantly, John was instrumental in introducing the concept of event sponsorship within the Council, which today raises over a quarter the yearly campaign revenue.
At Turner, John has responsibility for several business units throughout the United States and serves on Turner’s Leadership Team focused on company-wide strategy and policy. He has been in the construction business and with Turner for 32 years and is proud of the work in Chicago including notable projects such as the Art Institute’s Modern Wing and Nichols Bridgeway, Exelon City Solar, Ogden International Elementary School, University of Chicago Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts and Project Second Century for the 4th Presbyterian Church.
In addition to John’s industry experience and City of Hope contributions, he serves on the board for the following civic organizations in the Chicago area: Chicago Architectural Foundation, The Conservation Foundation and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has a B.S.C.E. in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
