The Music and Entertainment Industry was founded in 1973 by a group of executives at Warner Bros. This group represented the music industry’s first united effort to combat cancer and since its founding has raised over $80 million in support of City of Hope’s dedicated efforts to prevent cancer and other life-threatening diseases. 

The dedication and determination of this group has earned it a revered place within a nationwide network of volunteer groups and chapters who give their time to support City of Hope’s research, treatment and educational programs.

The Doobie Brothers, Collective Soul, Joe Jonas, Smokey Robinson and Lou Gossett Jr. have joined the fight against cancer by lending their voices to record national public service announcements (PSAs) that highlight the promising research being conducted at City of Hope.

Music and entertainment producer David Forman (Forman Bros. Holdings) has created a series of celebrity PSAs that encourage moviegoers nationwide to support City of Hope. Through a partnership with DMI Music and Yes Dear Entertainment, Forman’s audio PSAs are played in theater chains such as AMC, Edwards, Regal, Cinemark and Laemmle.
