Ernest S. Han, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Han received his medical degree from University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX, and then went on to receive his Ph.D. in Cell Physiology and Molecular Biophysics from the same institution. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Brown University, Women and Infants Hospital, Providence, RI and then completed his Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, Orange, CA. Dr. Han is a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has received specialized training in robotic surgical techniques. Dr. Han treats patients from both the Los Angeles area and Desert Communities and performs robotic surgery at City of Hope for endometrial and cervical cancers as well as for complex gynecologic conditions.

David Josephson, M.D.

Dr. Josephson is a native of Southern California, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology at University of California, Los Angeles, where he was named both a Departmental Scholar and Alumni Association Distinguished Scholar. He then attended medical school in New York at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and returned to California to receive general surgery and urology training at the University of Southern California. He then completed a clinical urologic oncology and reconstructive urology fellowship at Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center where he was also a Clinical Instructor of Urology. He subsequently did a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic urologic oncology at City of Hope. His studies have been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Urology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Urology, and Expert Review of Anticancer Therapy. Dr. Josephson is a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology, American Urologic Association and American College of Surgeons.

The da Vinci Surgical System, which integrates 3D video images and robotic technology to allow
surgeons to perform minimally-invasive surgeries, will be demonstrated live.
