One of City of Hope’s strongest support systems is its national network of dedicated volunteers. Most of these volunteers fall into one of three groups:  Associate Groups, Chapters or Industry Groups. Our volunteer/donor movement – like our progress in research and patient care – has become a model for other philanthropic organizations around the world.

PEDIATRICS

City of Hope is developing immune-based therapies for treating cancer, including neuroblastoma, one of the most common solid tumors of early childhood.  An exciting area of research involves the development of adoptive T-cell therapy, a process by which T-cells (infection-fighting immune cells) are genetically engineered to produce a receptor that allows them to recognize and eliminate malignant tumor cells.
