The 2013 Spirit of Life Gala Honoring Bob Keller Chairman and CEO, ACCO Brands
Bob Keller was named executive chairman of ACCO Brands Corporation, located in Lake Zurich, Illinois in March, 2013. Prior to that, he had been the chairman and chief executive officer since 2008. He has been on the board of directors since the company’s spinoff from Fortune Brands, Inc. in August, 2005. He was named non-executive chairman in September, 2008 and had formerly served as presiding independent director and a member of the audit committee and corporate governance and nominating committee.
Previously, Mr. Keller served as president and chief executive officer of APAC Customer Services, Inc., Deerfield, Illinois from March, 2004 until February, 2008. He has also served in various capacities at Office Depot, Inc. from February, 1998 through September, 2003, most recently as president, Business Services Group, where he was responsible for the organization’s field sales division, e-commerce business, catalog businesses and supply chain organization, encompassing approximately 15,000 employees and generating $4.5 billion in sales revenue.
A 1975 graduate of Middlebury College with a BA in American Literature, Mr. Keller taught English and coached football and baseball at Bishop Ireton High School in Alexandria, Virginia from 1975-1977. He began his business career with IBM in 1977 and worked there until 1989 in a variety of sales, marketing and management roles. He was recruited by Dun & Bradstreet in 1989 as senior vice president of sales, and was promoted to general manager of their marketing information business, elected to the corporate senior management group, and finally promoted to executive vice president of Dun & Bradstreet, managing their strategic accounts, before joining Office Depot.
Bob resides in New Jersey with his wife, Eileen, and their family.
