Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC)

Watch the Emerging Leaders Committee surprise the crowd with a flashmob at the 2014 Taste of Hope!

The Northern California Food Industries Circle has raised $40 million over the past four decades to benefit research and life-saving treatments for cancer, diabetes, & HIV/AIDS at City of Hope.

To further support this incredible effort, a group of emerging professionals in the food industry formed the Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC) in Fall 2013. In their first year of fundraising, the ELC raised nearly $30,000, through a kickoff happy hour, the
creation of a “Pets for Hope” coffee table book, and their marquee event, the Bocce Ball Tournament. This brought together vendors, brokers, retailers & their families for an evening of dinner, drinks & competitive fun on the bocce court.

Moving into 2015, the Emerging Leaders Committee strives to recruit up and coming industry leaders to the Northern California Food Industries Circle, while engaging existing board members in the process.

2015 Goals of the Emerging Leaders

  • Hosting events that include industry professionals of all experience levels
  • Connecting members of the food industry through networking events
