The City of Hope Department of Anesthesiology consists of experienced board eligible and board certified anesthesiologists. All of our anesthesiologists are doctors of medicine (MD) who have completed four years of medical school and an additional four years of specialized residency training in anesthesiology.

Our team is at the forefront of delivering innovative anesthesia care for the unique surgical procedures performed at City of Hope. We have vast experience and exposure to oncologic anesthesia, which ensures that patients are provided with the best care.

Our department also extends anesthesia services outside of the operating rooms by providing sedation for procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, radiologic procedures, and endoscopic procedures. We have developed an Anesthesiology Clinic to provide patients with multiple medical conditions with adequate planning for their upcoming surgical procedure.  In addition, we have created an Interventional Pain Service that brings state of the art procedures to the management of both acute postoperative surgical pain and cancer-related pain.

Lastly, the Department of Anesthesiology is committed to clinical research with the focus on continually improving patient care.
