 Division of Orthopaedic Surgery

City of Hope’s Division of Orthopaedic Surgery specializes in treatment of patients of all ages with tumor-related problems of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles and connective tissues).  We use a team approach to patient care, interfacing with the oncologist, radiologist and other specialists to provide our patients with the most advanced comprehensive surgical treatment and supportive therapy in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  We employ the latest techniques available and specialize in limb-preserving surgery.

We provide treatment for:

  • bone sarcomas, pediatric and adult
  • soft-tissue sarcomas, pediatric and adult
  • benign bone and soft-tissue tumors
  • metastatic bone tumors
  • pathologic fractures
  • metabolic bone disease
  • complex reconstructive bone and joint replacement surgery

We use the following techniques to ensure optimal results:

  • limb-preserving surgery
  • use of “growing” endoprosthesis for children
  • complex reconstructive bone and joint replacement surgery
  • radiofrequency ablation
