 What to Bring

To know what to pack and what to leave at home can be difficult, particularly during an already overwhelming time. Our recommendation is to pack light. A small overnight suitcase or duffel bag filled with the items listed is all you will need for a comfortable stay. You may bring your own nightgown or pajamas or wear the hospital gown we provide.

For patients being admitted to the ICU, we ask that a family member take any extraneous items home until the patient is transferred, due to very limited space for belongings.

Valuables
We strongly recommend that you leave any valuable items at home. Our entire focus is on caring for you and your physical and emotional well-being. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the safekeeping of any personal items.

Medications
It is vital for us to keep an accurate record of your medications. We ask that you leave previously prescribed medications at home to avoid any confusion with medications your City of Hope physician may prescribe. In the event that you have brought them with you, please inform your nurse.
