Meet Our Residents

 
Dr. Grace R. Chen (PGY2 Resident) received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.  She graduated from the University of Michigan where she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Kaiser Permanente Central Valley Area in Stockton, CA, where she discovered a strong interest in pharmacy administration and medical oncology.  Her hobbies include playing tennis, playing video games, and exploring new places.

Dr. Edward Thanasombat (PGY1 Resident) received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego.  He graduated from the University of Southern California where he obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  Over the past years, he gained an interest in oncology and a passion for enhancing the quality of patient care.  Currently, he is a pharmacy practice resident with professional interests in critical care, medical oncology, and solid tumor cancers.  In his spare time he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and running, volleyball, watching movies and television shows, and discovering new restaurants with friends and family.
 
 
Dr. Vickie Yang (PGY1 Resident) received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern California.  She graduated from the University of Southern California where she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Throughout her academic career, she developed a passion for critical care medicine, solid tumor cancers and preserving a patient's quality of life. She sees a career in clinical practice and plans to return to academia in a role that allows her to mentor pharmacy students. In her spare time, she enjoys covering songs on her drum set, catching up on her TV shows and finding the best coffee cafes around town.
 
Dr. Iris Zhao (PGY1 Resident) received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of California, San Diego.   She graduated from the University of California, San Diego where she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree.  After completing a rotation in oncology during pharmacy school, she developed a passion the field and for enhancing the quality of patient care through compassion and leadership.  Currently, she is a pharmacy practice resident with professional interests in medical oncology, infectious diseases, and academia.   In her spare time, she enjoys spending time going on food crawls, trying new restaurants, watching movies, and traveling the world with her family and friends.    
 
 
Christopher Campbell, Pharm.D., (PGY2 Resident) received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois in 2011 and completed his PGY1 residency at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center in 2012. His previous internship experience was in community pharmacy. Campbell is a member of several professional organizations including the local San Gabriel Valley California Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and previously served as VP for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy - UIC student chapter and as a sergeant in the Illinois National Guard. He has received several honors both academically and from the military. Campbell’s academic interests include hematology and tyrosine kinase inhibitor research, and he eventually hopes to be working for the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in policy development in oncology.

Ayla Chan, Pharm.D., (PGY1 Resident) received her Bachelor of Arts degree in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. She graduated from the University of Southern California where she obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Throughout her academic career, she developed a passion for medical oncology, transplant medicine, and in enhancing and optimizing a patient's quality of life and life years. Currently, she is a pharmacy practice resident with professional interests in medical oncology, hematology and academia. In her spare time, she enjoys having brunch/dinner with family and friends, watching football and traveling.

Ibrahim Lala, Pharm.D., (PGY1 Resident) received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in molecular and cell biology and in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. He graduated from Midwestern University where he obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Throughout college and during rotations, he developed a strong interest in oncology and providing compassionate and ethical patient care. Currently, he is a pharmacy practice resident with professional interests in hematology/oncology, infectious diseases and academia. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his niece and nephew, trying new foods and wearing colorful socks.
