 Using the Facility

To use the Genetic Markers Service, contact Memo Rivas at 626-256-HOPE (4673), ext. 65598, or Garry Larson, Ph.D., ext. 64377.

Supplies Needed
Before you bring samples to the Genetic Markers Service for genotyping, investigators must meet with core personnel to set up your project.

Investigators should supply quality-controlled sample DNAs at a concentration of 25ng/µl single nucleotide polymorphism  (SNP). Alternatively, investigators can provide lyophilized DNAs in a PCR-compatible 96-well array with approximately 10ng/well. Preliminary experiments may be performed to assess sample integrity.

Core services include assistance with assay design (SNP/iPLEX software, methylation/EpiTyper software, RNA quantitation and QGE software primer ordering). All reagents are provided by the core. For methylation and quantitative gene expression experiments, please inquire with core staff.

Pricing and Turnaround Times
Pricing and turnaround times of services provided by the Genetic Markers Service core are completely project-dependent. Investigators should discuss their experimental needs with core staff for further information.
