Supported by City of Hope's NCI-funded Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG)

 Abstract for Grants

The RNAi facility is part of City of Hope’s Functional Genomics Core, which is partially funded by the NCI cancer center grant. It provides services for siRNA/shRNA design and optimized delivery, production of shRNA-expressing lentiviral vectors, and knockdown/microarray validation services to City of Hope and Beckman Research Institute scientific investigators.

The core has an Amaxa Nucleofector device II, which allows efficient transfection of RNA or DNA into primary cells and difficult-to-transfect cell lines and two qPCR instruments:  a Bio-Rad iQ5 Multicolor Real-Time PCR Detection System and the next-generation ABI Real-time PCR system, ViiA 7, which is compatible with 96-well plates, 384-well plates as well as TaqMan® Array Micro Fluidic Cards.
