The RNAi Service has the following instruments:

ViiA 7 Real-Time PCR System

The ABI ViiA 7 Real-Time PCR System is a next-generation, medium- to high-throughput, flexible qPCR system, which can be set up to run 384-well or 96-well plates. The ViiA 7 is also compatible with TaqMan® Array Micro Fluidic Cards containing TaqMan® Gene Expression or MicroRNA Assays. The instrument has six decoupled excitation and emission filter channels for the greatest number of dye combinations and maximum multiplexing capabilities.

iQ5 Multicolor Real-Time PCR Detection System

The iQ5 system allows quantification of a target sequence in a sample of RNA or DNA. It offers five-target analysis capabilities for multiplex PCR and data collection. The instrument has a dynamic range of nine orders of magnitude and is sensitive enough to detect a single copy of the target sequence present in a sample.

NanoDrop® ND-1000 UV-Vis

The NanoDrop™ 1000 Spectrophotometer enables highly accurate UV/Vis analyses of 1 ul samples with remarkable reproducibility. The patented sample retention system eliminates the need for cuvettes and capillaries, which decreases the measurement cycle time. In addition, the high absorbance capability eliminates the need for most dilutions.

Amaxa Nucleofector Device II

The Nucleofector™ technology allows efficient transfection of RNA or DNA into primary cells and difficult-to-transfect cell lines. It is based on two unique components, the Nucleofector™ Device that delivers the specifically developed electrical parameters and Nucleofector™ Kits that contain cell-specific and optimized Nucleofector™ Solutions.
