Video Time Lapse MicroscopesVideo Time Lapse Microscopy Equipment: Furth 1115
The Light Microscopy Core facility includes four Nikon TS100 Phase microscopes with 4X, 10X, 20X and 40X objectives. CCD cameras are mounted onto the microscopes and the image is directed to computers running SBIG imaging software. This setup is located in a tissue culture warm room/incubator, and allows investigators to monitor the growth of attached cell tissue cultures directly for control and treated conditions. Software allows capturing imaging data from up to four cameras, at rates as short as 5 seconds per camera capture, with no upper limit, for several days as required by the experiment.

Quality Control
The Light Microscopy Core staff is responsible for keeping all equipment clean and in good working order.

Supplies
Investigators need to bring their cells in a flask with appropriate growth media. The flask should be gassed with CO2 and sealed with parafilm before placing on the microscope.

Turn-around Time
Monitoring is determined by the experiment. The software can collect images from seconds to multiple days.
