 Survey Research Core (SRC)

The Survey Research Core (SRC) is a shared resource, supported by the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, to help investigators conduct research using survey methodology. The SRC provides a wide range of services in the areas of study design and sampling, survey instrument development and evaluation, data coding, collection, management, analysis and reporting.

The overall goal of the SRC is to provide high quality, standardized services to conduct survey-based research. The SRC staff work closely with investigators to design the best possible study to meet the specific challenges of the research question.

The SRC provides the expertise, resources, facilities, and staff and utilizes instruments such as telephone surveys, face-to-face interviews, web surveys, and mailed questionnaires.

Services provided include:

  • Study design and sampling
  • Instrument development and pre-testing
  • Data collection and entry
  • Data coding and entry
  • Data management
  • Data analysis and reporting

To help investigators achieve their research goals by facilitating the use of survey-based methodology in the context of objectivity, accuracy, relevance, timeliness and clarity.

 Shared Resources

City of Hope and Beckman Research Institute have developed Shared Resources where a perceived need exists for specialized equipment, services, or expert consultation. Shared Resources with specialized instrumentation, and the expertise to apply these resources to research, have become increasingly important in recent years. Many of City of Hope's research support services are funded by the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG).
