Fairmont Designs also operate a retail chain of 106 stores in the Greater China market.
George was born in Taiwan.  He attended high school in Japan. As a young man, George saw his father struggling to produce tables for west coast importers.  He set out to establish a business where he could be in control of his own destiny.  From a humble beginning in Cerritos, California, in an empty warehouse with two folding chairs -- one used as a makeshift desk, George built a reputation in wood furniture and led his fast-growing company to own and operate 7 furnishings manufacturing facilities in 4 countries.
George received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University in engineering and a Master’s of Engineering from UC Berkeley. He and his wife Chris Kung are Southern California residents and have two children, Justin, 31 and Tiffany, 23.  George lost his sister, Vivian Tsai in 1978 when she was 18 years of age after a 14 month battle with lymphoma.  He is pleased to be the first Asian American honored by City of Hope and dedicates this acknowledgment to his sister’s memory.
