12th annual Walk for Life benefiting City of Hope - February 26, 2014On a picture perfect February day, hundreds of students, faculty, staff and community members took to the streets of Palos Verdes, California, for the 12th annual Walk for Life. The fundraiser, which began in support of breast cancer and has since evolved to support all cancer research, raised over $25,000 for the 2014 event.

12th annual Walk for Life benefiting City of Hope - February 26, 2014February's Walk for Life began with a naming ceremony. Names of loved ones - survivors or those who have passed on - were read aloud.  In honor of each name announced, a rose was placed into a vase to symbolize the importance of cancer awareness, treatment and research. City of Hope's National events team member Danielle Sapia was there to accept the $25,000 check and give a special thank you to all the students and faculty for their support in joining our cause to raise funds.

Participants began their walk at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School, made their way to the local park and back, and ended with a great celebration.

Palos Verdes Peninsula High School is teaching their students the importance of supporting a cause, enabling them to continue as future philanthropists and supporters of City of Hope throughout their lifetime.

Thank you to Palos Verdes Peninsula High School for choosing City of Hope as your beneficiary.
