City of Hope Campus Plan
A Blueprint for the Future

The City of Hope Campus Plan is a blueprint for the evolution and improvement of our main campus over the next 20 years. These enhancements will allow City of Hope to better pursue our mission and touch even more lives with our work. We invite you to learn more!

Our Vision

City of Hope is an independent research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Our first location – in the City of Duarte and neighboring Irwindale – continues to serve as our cornerstone campus.

As we move into our second century, we are seeking to create a more advanced and cohesive campus environment to extend our local and global leadership in research and patient care.

Community Commitment

Duarte and neighboring Irwindale have been home to City of Hope ever since a group of volunteers set up two large tents on a plot of empty desert to treat tuberculosis patients more than 100 years ago. While we have changed quite a bit since 1913, our bond to our home community remains as strong as ever.

Supporting our communities is fundamental to City of Hope’s mission. Working with a variety of local partners and stakeholders, we provide millions of dollars a year to programs and activities that serve our region. Among our many community-serving initiatives, we work to:

  • Promote health and wellness
  • Address health disparities and access to care
  • Advance disease prevention and education
  • Celebrate diversity and inclusion
  • Educate and train young people to develop a pipeline for tomorrow’s health-care leaders

Overall, City of Hope participates in more than 200 community outreach events and programs.
