The expanded APC provides access to and maintains a wide range of state-of-the-art analytical instruments that are out of reach for most investigators. Key high-end analytical equipment includes five HPLC triple quadrupole mass spectrometers (LC-MS/MS); a Micromass Quattro Ultima interfaced with an Agilent 1100 HPLC, a Waters Quattro Premier XE interfaced with a Waters Acquity UPLC, an AB Sciex 5500 QTRAP interfaced with a Shimadzu XR system, an Agilent 6410 interfaced with an Agilent 1260 Infinity HPLC, and a recently acquired Waters Xevo-TQXS interfaced with a Acquity UPLC. Each LC-MS/MS has its own dedicated nitrogen generator and UPS battery backup for uninterruptable operation. The Core also has 4 complete HPLC systems consisting of solvent delivery modules (4 Shimadzu LC-10A's, 2 Shimadzu LC-10AD's, 1 SpectraSystem P4000), a wide range of detection capabilities, including UV/Vis (Shimadzu SPD-10AV), fluorescence (Shimadzu RF-10A), electrochemical (ESA models 5100A and 5200A), and photodiode array (SpectraSystem UV6000LP) detection systems, and automated injection systems (Shimadzu SIL-10A, SpectraSystem AS3000). GC/MS instrumentation is comprised of a Shimadzu Model QP-5000 EI gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer. In addition to a Perkin Elmer AAnalyst 300 atomic absorption spectrophotometer, the APC has acquired an Agilent 8800 inductively coupled plasma triple quadrupole mass spectrometer (ICP-MS), which represents the state-of-the-art for quantitative analysis of metals and metal containing compounds. Available analytical immunochemistry and biomolecule instrumentation includes a fully automated FLUOstar OPTIMA microplate multi-detection reader capable of reading fluorescence intensity, time-resolved fluorescence, high-performance luminescence (flash and glow), and absorbance; a Luminex FLEXMAP 3D bead array reader, a Luminex BioPlex™-HTX bead array reader, a Bio-Rad QX200 Droplet Digital PCR system, two MJR Chromo 4™ Q-PCR systems, and a Guava PCA-96 analytical cell counter.
