Earlier this year, Victor Espinoza, riding California Chrome, attempted to capture the historic Triple Crown of horse racing. After wins at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, Espinoza and California Chrome, came up short at the Belmont Stakes, finishing in fourth place. But Espinoza still stands in the winner's circle at City of Hope. Each year for the past 10 years, he has donated a portion of his winnings to City of Hope - and until recently, anonymously.

Since May, Espinoza has twice visited the campus, sharing smiles, gifts and stories with patients.

Recently, he became a Citizen of Hope, helping to raise awareness of City of Hope in the racing community.

For the second year, City of Hope has been selected as the primary beneficiary of the Breeders' Cup World Championships. The top of the horse racing field competes at Santa Anita Park on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
