To help address the growing demand for clinicians with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills in the practice of geneticcancer risk assessment (GCRA), the multifaceted Intensive Course in Cancer Risk Assessment
and its Clinical Cancer Genetics Community of Practice (CCGCoP)
leverage the expertise of the academic health center through Web-based tools to deliver accessible, evidence-based cancer genetics and genomics training, professional development and practice-centered support at the point of care. The mission of the Intensive Course
is to increase the number of clinicians who are able to translate rapid advances in genetics and genomics into cancer risk assessment, management, and prevention practice. Realizing the promise of personalized medicine by promoting best practices in the delivery of GCRA services across the U.S. and internationally is the ultimate goal of the Clinical Cancer Genetics Community of Practice.
