Arti Hurria, M.D., specializes in treating cancer patients who are 65 and older (they make up almost half of all new breast cancer diagnoses in the United States). A trained geriatrician and oncologist who served fellowships at Harvard and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Hurria directs the City of Hope Cancer and Aging Research Program. She is focused on improving chemotherapy treatments for older patients while minimizing side effects which could affect quality of life.

A compassionate and respectful professional, Dr. Hurria has been honored with multiple awards including the Frederick Stenn Memorial Award for Humanism in Medicine and the B.J. Kennedy Award and Lecture for Scientific Excellence in Geriatric Oncology.

Dr. Hurria has also been elected to serve a four-year-term — beginning in June 2016 — on the board of directors for the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the world's leading professional organization representing physicians who provide cancer care.
