That means that about 70,000 new cases of bladder cancer will be diagnosed this year – 90 percent of them in patients who are over 55 years old. The majority of patients – close to 80 percent – are men, but women account for about a third of all bladder cancer deaths.
And though the rate of new bladder cancer diagnoses in men and women has been dropping slightly in recent years, it’s still important to arm yourself with the facts.
