Bassam Ghanem, M.D. is an oncologist, hematologist and assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medical Oncology and Therapeutics Research.
Dr. Ghanem received his medical degree from Damascus University in Syria before continuing his general surgery residency at Damascus University Hospital. He completed his internal medicine residency at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in New York and his hematology and oncology fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, also in New York.
After 13 years in hematology and oncology private practice, first in Tampa Bay, Florida followed by Simi Valley, California, Dr. Ghanem joins City of Hope in our Simi Valley facility.

He did not know my health history, what I was was doing there at that visit, and how long I had been having treatments. He was baseing all his comments off 1 CT scan and 2 blood draws, which he read once he was in the room with us. He never really said goodbye, but left the room - Verified patient
