Lei Gao received his Ph.D. degree from Beijing Normal University in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During his studies, he received training for transgenic mice generation and generated cl-tTA transgenic mice with a technology called functionally enriched ES cell transgenics (FEEST), which is a highly efficient technique used to guarantee expression of the gene of interest. While doing cancer research, he found that GATA4 functioned as a tumor suppressor gene in lung cancer. His current project is focused on the study of RNA modification in cancer.
